Maneki-Neko is a traditional Japanese (later popular in China and then all round the world) figurine which is supposed to bring good luck to a business establishment. The cat is seen doing a beckoning hand gesture (in a lot of parts of Asia, the beckoning gesture is made with the palm facing downwards as opposed to the western gesture with the palm facing up). There are several different types of maneki-neko, the white one is supposed to bring happiness while the golden one brings wealth and prosperity.
